Searching by date
The online search facility also allows you to search for records by date. In situations where only a partial date is known, you can search accordingly (e.g. for March 1867, enter 03 in the month box and 1867 in the year box). All records containing that date in one of the date fields will be presented.
Please note that in some cases the date of birth is included in the baptism record and the date of death in the burial record. These date fields are also searched.
In the case of some of the records, the terms "Assumed" and "Based on other date information" appear on the entry. The "Assumed" term was applied to indicate the possible relevant date in a situation where, for example, the date could not clearly be accurately determined. "Based on other date information" was used in some cases to suggest a date based on other information in the entry, for example, where a birth date was recorded, a baptism date may be given based on the birth date. The process of inferring information would not be widely used and was a feature of the compilation of database in one area only.
