About the Church Records Project

Update of progress on the computerisation of the records

This database now contains church records for Dublin City, Carlow, Cork and Kerry.

The remaining Church of Ireland records of Dublin City, County Kerry and County Carlow have now been added. Also a subset of the Roman Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Cork & Ross have also been added. These additional records and digital images of the original of these record are now available to view following their launch by Mary Hanafin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport and the Archbishop of Dublin, The Most Rev. Dr. John R.W. Neill on Wednesday 16th June 2010. These records are in addition to the existing records from Dublin City and Kerry that were already available on the website.

Work has commenced to complete the computerisation of the remaining available Roman Catholic records for Dublin City and the Diocese of Cork and Ross, which encompasses Cork City and all of the parishes in West Cork. It is intended to have elements of this project completed and available on-line by the end of 2010.
